Guards

The consul

On Monday evening I arrived in Istanbul.
My Turkish publisher picked me up at the airport.
I was going to stay at the Dutch consulate. Usually I prefer hotels but a consulate can be neat as well.
Around 1:30 we arrived at the consulate.
The guards refused to let me in. My publisher started negotiating, but the guards didn’t want to wake up the consul.
I was ready to go to a hotel, but I didn’t want to be rude.
Around 2:15 the guards let me in. One of them helped me with my suitcase.

Looks very good! Hope to see/hear more about this place.
did you complain to your Turkish Publisher about the ignorance when I tried to phone them about reviews and author's copies?
funny the life you live

Most writers take refuge to their green mountain to write, Arnon carries his green mountain with him( Grun Berg), that's why he is able to write everywhere.
That's a nice nomen est omen, Mieke. You've got a roof (toit) above your head, so you feel at home everywhere?

I have two publishers in Turkey, the Turkish publisher of "Phantom Pain" is not the same as the Turkish publisher of "Tirza."
