Sweltering day
Today is my godson’s birthday.
He was in born in New York on a sweltering day in 2004.
It’s appropriate to play Leonard Cohen’s “Story of Isaac” for him, although he is more fond of Abba and Madonna.
“And if you call me brother now,/ Forgive me if I inquire,/ Just according to whose plan?/ When it all comes down to dust/ I will kill you if I must,/
I will help you if I can./ When it all comes down to dust/ I will help you if I must,/ I will kill you if I can./ And mercy on our uniform,/ Man of peace or man of war,/ The peacock spreads his fan.”
(The live version is slightly different.)

Congratulations.
Hmmm... Madonna. She as well sings a song about Isaac. Of course the lyrics are less pointed. And of course you know.
It has been quite a long time since you have told me to keep quiet.
Oh how I adore Leonard Cohen. I'm smitten by him.
Congratulations with the birthday of your godson. He looks like a great kid. I hope for him he will continue to listen to ABBA and Madonna for a long time before he starts to listen to Leonard Cohen.
Did he change you? Do you look at life differently since he came into your world?
What a beautiful day to have a birthday.
…
(At least this kid is blessed with an intelligent and sensitive uncle.)

Today I did a great discovery. Reading 'De dood van het Haantje' gives an idea about how you came up with Xavier Radek.
ps
Congrats with your godson
