Ukraine

Birthday party

This evening I went to a birthday party. Most of the guests were in their early twenties. Most of the guests smoked.
I mistakenly believed that we had outsourced smoking to countries like Ukraine.
Tonight it felt as if I were back in Ukraine, the biggest difference was that there weren’t bottles of vodka on the tables.

Today, my fifth no-smoking day starts. Quite an achievement for me. But then one realises how much certain others still smoke.
For you , who dislikes smoking so much, it must have been an ordeal.

I myself enjoy smoking a cigar twice a year.
I'm considering smoking myself.
Wonderful Mieke! I envy you (as will any other smoker. )
I smoked a lot for years. Smoking is a good solution for a lot of problems.
Mieke, did you read 'Stoppen met roken' from Alan Carr (who died of lung cancer)?

I don't know his method, but I'm not using any nicotine preparations. I promised my goddaughter I would stop for her birthday and untill now this oath still works.
Why would you stop smoking? And if so, is it in your personal intrest or are you worried about the health of the non smokers?
I agree with Dens, I would love to smoke again but for me it's to expensive.
Smoking
Two things that take time to get used every time I come to Ukraine: cigarette smoke and the absence of toilet paper in public toilets. ;)

The method is very simple: the idea is that you stop every time you finish a cigarette, you just begin again when you light up a new one. In short, you just decide not to light up another cigarette. The book gives you the strength to do this.
From experience I know the first week is the most difficult. It's easier for stubborn people!
Good luck!
I liked smoking a lot, but enough is enough. Smoking is not a very interesting habit.
