Przybyszewski

Munch

At the end of the 80’s, after having failed as an actor, I started a small press named Kasimir.
One of the books I planned to publish was a collection of texts by the Polish author Stanisław Przybyszewski.
At that time Igel Verlag in Germany was publishing Przybyszewski and I was intrigued by his work, and his name.
This morning I went to the National Gallery for an exhibition on Munch and I was surprised to learn that Munch and Przybyszewski were close friends.

Isnt that also the name of one af the characters in the Bommel books of Toonder? (id liked to pronounce the name and instantly recognized it, for years i hoped to give the name to an agent when he wanted to book me but i never got booked in that time and after a while forgot about it, until now, want to know the real character)

No, I only knew a painting of him by Munch.

But if the cue for yor surprise simply was to come across the same name again, it is clear.

Thank you, thats the one! Should Toonder have used a part of his name? I also see some other names show up now. From now on I use Przybyszewski because Prlwytzkofsky is a real tongue breaker when caught drunk. I will not use the name in Poland of course and or when booked by a literary agent.
