Nobody
A matter of time
Not one police officer stopped my vehicle, threatened to rape my driver or to kidnap me. There was nobody to bribe.
The stories told by Brazilians about Paraguay turned to be – at least for now – bogus.
I plan to have dinner tonight at a restaurant called “The German Garden.”
The news that German children can be named again “Adolf” struck me as sign that for every statesman rehabilitation is just a matter of time.
Here in my hotel in Paraguay they love Michael Jackson’s music. Maybe also a sign of rehabilitation.

Ah, Adolf Hitler. During my youth I was strangely attracted by this character. Maybe because I recognised in him the heavily beaten child looking for revenge. What is more scaring to me, are the millions of ‘normal people’ who took a golden opportunity for a brilliant career in his name. The millions have no names. (I am much obliged to Hannah Arendt).
