Work

Normal

Around eight PM my mother called me.
“Tonight you are getting this prize and you are not there,” she said. (This evening I was awarded the Constantijn Huygens Prize.)
“I have to work here,” I said. “I’m in Ankara, and I have to work. I cannot be at two places at the same time.”

“You are not normal,” my mother answered. “You are abnormal.”

In my family everybody accuses the other person of being abnormal, but I try to stay out of this fight. My mother is allowed to believe that I’m abnormal.

Looks like a normal family to me.

Congratulations with your prize. Are you happy with it?
At least she does not say it behind your back.
Congratulations!
Congratulations Arnon with this prize.
I think it's great you have moved on already and therefore can't be there. Sometimes you remind me of the Ramones..... 1-2-3-4- hey! ho! let's go!
Arnon,

Not being able to be in Ankarra and The Hague at the same time, seems to me quite normal.

But it is possible for Huygens, to be at different places at the same time i mean. He is an institute in Amsterdam, a sattelite in space, there are some streets named after him, theres the prize (congratulations Arnon) and theres a grave in Den Haag. And whats better then an acceptance speech from Arnon from Iraq, thanking his mother and us?
Arnon
How long will you be on this trip?
I just got my out of jail free card and will also travel soon.

Three weeks. Inshallah.
