Second best

Yesterday night I had dinner with my Turkish driver, his wife, and my assistant in a restaurant on the outskirts of Istanbul, near the Bosporus.
We got the second best table in the restaurant.
Dinner progressed slowly.
My driver gave my assistant and me a talisman against the evil eye.
I wanted to go back to Baghdad immediately.
What do you need a talisman for outside Baghdad?

Did you feel overvalued by any chance? And was the restaurant quite full or empty?

I would love to go to Baghdad with Arnon next year, but no talisman for me. I doubt their effectiveness. Funny though how many atheists are still in need for a good luck charm.
