Trouble

Comedy plot

One of my favorite scenes in Chaplin’s movie “City Lights” is the boxing scene.
Tonight I saw “City Lights” for the second time in four months.
Chaplin writes in his autobiography that contriving comedy plot is simple: “It [is] the process of getting people in and out of trouble.”

All literature is based on this process.

I agree. Although I believe that in most literature people don't get out of all the trouble they get into.
some get in some get out
Problem: how to make sound to this 90 minutes silent film?
Film pianist Yvo Verschoor brought his grand piano to keep Chaplin out of trouble. Beautiful combination it was! Thanks Zwarte Ruiter.
