Splendid

Nails

Shortly after my arrival in Amsterdam I took a taxi to my mother’s house.
The lady from the Philippines, my mother's caretaker, greeted me with a smile.
The lady had cut my mother’s toe nails and her hair.
My mother looked splendid.
“I don’t want heart surgery,” my mother said. “I won’t survive an operation.” And then she continued munching on her codfish.

How much time has she left without the surgery? The doctors perform miracles now a days. Give your mother my best regards.
After being cut from top to bottom, let her be cut in the heart. It'll do her good.
a little friend
has your mother ever wished to have an animal? a bird or maybe small white dog? something what would be helpless without her. It works often both ways: it gives old people something to hold on but if the little friend dies it might go really fast with the owner . Considering this, you might talk to a psychologist how to introduce the idea to your Mother.
nails
its toe nails, not foot nails
And who is the little creature on the photo?
Marcassins
@ Mieke
Hello, Mieke
Glad you're back. How many marcassins did you kill during your french holliday ?
Francette
The small river - the favorite drinkingspot of the marcassins- nearby the wooden cabin in wich I was being lodged was dry. So, I didn't even see one, but my uncle almost shot an adult female.
Luckily my aunt still had some delicious paté in her freezer.
Thanks for asking.
The first week of October I'm taking three octogenarians to Winterbergen in Sauerland for a few days. I am there driver.
Whatever, your mother is a brave woman.
No birds. Papegaaienziekte. Chlamydophila psittaci.
Ronald
I stand corrected.
Chlamydophila psittaci

Chlamydophila psittaci / Psittacosis / Bird (avian) flu
Yes, could be dangerous, but so is a cat or dog that might give you some disease.
Most dangerous: going to hospital and get infected with some hospital bacteria.
