Summer

1998

Before the reading in Neuss the librarian informed me: “We met before, you came to Neuss in 1998 with your first novel, and then in 2007 with “Saint Antonio”, and you were in Neuss in between, but that’s was not in my library.” Slowly I started remembering things.
“During your reading in 1998 two ladies walked out,” he said. “But they came back.”
“Yes.”
They walked out, because they didn't like the reading, but they came back, for whatever reason.
Also I remembered the reading in 2007. (See here.) It was a warm summer night, the next day I took the train to Bavaria to work as a chambermaid in a three star hotel. (See here.) The summer of 2007 was a good summer.
