After the reading in the "Stadtkirche" in Darmstadt (the main protestant church of the city), one of my favorites places for readings, an elderly lady approached me.
She said: "While listening to you I remembered this quote by Kleist: 'Ich bin dir wohl ein Rätsel? Nicht wahr? Nun, tröste dich, Gott ist es mir.'"
(I'm a riddle to you ain't I? Now, comfort yourself, God is a riddle to me.)
Humans are riddles to each other, but some prefer the riddle of God.
