Cheese

Cheek

A reading in Château de Voltaire. There was cheese before and macarons after the reading. Students quizzed the audience about my work.
Afterwards the first question was: "Does love dwell in lies?"
A reference to an excerpt from my novel "Birthmarks" that I had read.
"It depends," I answered. "Are you the one who is lying or are you the one being lied to, because that makes all the difference in the world. But in general, love dwells everywhere."
Later another woman approached me. She said: "I always thought you were a jerk, but you are a kind man." And she kissed me a few times on my cheek.
