Reading in Hinterthiersee, in Hotel Juffing. After the Waldhaus in Sils-Maria the second hotel where I gave a reading, if I don’t count the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam, where I spoke about my mother’s book more than a year ago.
I quoted the psychiatrist who helped me with my novel “Birthmarks” (Muttermale, here in Austria). He said: “Life is overrated.” The charming and helpful lady, owner of the hotel, who had invited me, replied: “I totally agree, life is overrated.” She said it with so much passion that I felt obliged to defend life.
