Last day

Why are these people dead?

This is going to be my last day in New York for more than a month.
As every morning I walked with my godson to Chez Laurence around the corner where I bought cappuccino, OJ and croissants.
On the counter at Chez Laurence the owner has placed a tiny statuette of a few ghosts, I guess for Halloween already.
My godson is intrigued by these ghosts – I explained him (for the lack of a better explanation) that ghosts are dead people. But he keeps asking: “Why are these people dead?” My answer is always the same: "First we are going to eat a croissant."

Why are we alive? Children at that age merely ask why. Just tell him there are plenty of nice ghosts too.

My apologies. I did not phrase my question correctly. What I meant to ask was: "In your absence, would you like Laura and I to take your godson for a walk?"

If passion is usually misunderstood, then I'd say it's underrated. People who are passionate but misunderstood should be closely watched (instead of written off) as next time you notice them, they're thanking their mother for winning the Libris and within due time, they'll be thanking their mother for winning the Pulitzer ;)

When you say that it's your last day in New York for more than a month, how do you feel about leaving your godson behind ?
When I leave my children behind, after a couple of days I crave picking up the phone just to hear their voices....
Since you travel a lot, it must really be hard.

The mother of my godson would like to know if you and Laura are dangerous and/or insane.
She is looking forward to your e-mail, but she insists on escorting you when you take my godson for a walk. I believe this is fair.
