"The Wife" with all its flaws is much more than a feminist parable, Glenn Close's performance alone makes it worth watching.

But there's more: basking in achievement is not always the fastest way to fame and respect. The wife (Glenn Close) recognizes that she is a kingmaker, and the kingmaker should never be underestimated.
