A friend sent me this poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, "A beautiful place".

It's by no means a great poem - bu what's a great poem? - but sometimes poems (or one could say language) arrives timely.

The world is a beautiful place
to be born into
if you don't mind happiness
not always being
so very much fun
if you don't mind a touch of hell
now and then
just when everything is fine

Read the poem here.

It's our task, I guess, to enjoy this touch of hell as far as possible. Enjoying hell of course can also become a morally ambiguous endeavor.
