Christmas or Chanukah

The basement

A few weeks ago my manicurist Irina called me to say that she was fired.
She had been too friendly to the customers. Whatever that means.
Irina has found a new place to work; it’s on the Upper West Side, in the basement of a beauty parlor.
According to Irina she was fired after her boss told her that she could not speak Russian anymore at work and she objected to this new rule. Also she stated that her boss was jealous because a photographer working for a Dutch weekly took some pictures of Irina.
I cannot verify this information.
All I know is that Irina gave me today a box of chocolates for Christmas or Chanukah.

What did you give her?

Nothing, I tipped her $20. My usual tip for manicure and pedicure.
So you went to visit her in her new working place; that is nice. But maybe like me, you do not like to change once you are accustomed. I had a massage (with happy ending) by my sweetheart. I saw the Topor book in Antwerp today and I was tempted, but I had already bought Black Mass by John Gray; maybe in a week or two, as a Christmas gift to myself. (My sweetheart likes chocolates too).
Hereby I like to honour the Belgian philosopher, musician and TV maker Jan Leyers for his good TV series ‘Road to Mecca’. And I like to honour the Dutch Midas Dekkers and Bas Haring too (By Jove, I feel great today). Good night.
were you about to eat them? or throw them away? despite the location whare yoe have placed them: the sink , which is normally nearby a rubbishtin
