Rhino bus

Normal

I made it to Iraq. Not yet in the Green Zone, but nevertheless.
This evening I will travel to the Green Zone by Rhino bus.
This afternoon I ordered a Veggie Lover's at the Pizza Hut. Could only eat two slices. No one was interested in the other four.
Sense of time and place is slowly fading away.
My clothes function as clothes, pair of pajamas and blanket. This seems to me surprisingly normal.

I think it is interesting that one can lose his sense of time and place in a place that pre-eminently marks our time. The folks at the home front appear to be dumbfounded as well that you actually made it there. The eight o'clock news seems to be the only appropriate setting for this current affair, our present-day world war. Neither grand narrative nor petite histoire; it is time for global writing, for texts that transcend these borders; for something that might be called trespassive writing. Writing history where history is being written. Only the former will survive.
Btw, your first sentence there is sublime. "I made it to Iraq". One would expect a person to say, "I made it to New York" (or Amsterdam, Paris, whatever) after having been to Iraq, and having managed to get out. Iraq, once the Garden of Eden, our "paradise" of the future...
I thought the "place I cannot mention" was Iraq. I wonder where you were, when you were at Frankfurt Airport.
