For reasons still not completely known to me I decided Saturday night to change my reservation and to fly out of Dublin on Sunday on the late Aer Lingus flight to New York instead of the early.
When I arrived yesterday at Dublin airport at around 15:00 the flight to New York was cancelled due “to weather conditions in New York”.
One lady working for Aer Lingus was handling thirty passengers. “We will do our best to get you to New York today," she kept saying.
Finally I was put on a flight to Boston and from Boston there were buses to New York, not to the city, straight to JFK.
Call me decadent, but I wasn’t in the mood for a bus after a four-hour delay. Already in Dublin I had called my car service, and a gentle driver picked me up in Boston and drove me home.
Many of you seemed to be interested in my inflamed toe, a leftover from Iraq. The picture is an update of this morning 07:00 AM.
It might not look so but it does feel better.
It's amazing how much you travel. Reminds me of the crusaders, spreading the Word.
Be careful, it is always the little ones that get you.

A few weeks ago I read the book The Ultimate Experience. Battlefield Revelations and the Making of Modern War Culture, 1450-2000 by Yuval Noah Harari. I think this book will interest you. It explains how an inflamed toe can become a revelation in modern times (in contrast with the premodern era).Arnon
Can't you choose some less provocative covers for your novels? In the darker areas of the world they may be be experienced as offensive, while on the bus I always have to hide them from the gaze of fundamentalists.+
I just sent this comment from a new pc. I think you have to change the "love" over there, it is misleading.It wouldent hurt to let a dokter take a look at it.
