Vocalizations

Willingness

An interesting article in today’s NY Times about the sex life of chimps and of human beings: ‘Though human vocalizations during intercourse have not been much studied, they do have “a quite elaborate acoustical structure, which suggests some kind of communicative function,” said Dr. Townsend, who is at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Copulation calls are not a feature of public life in Western societies, but the situation could be different in hunter-gatherer groups, which enjoy little privacy.
“I can imagine that these sort of signals may still be very much perceived by other group members and give a female a high degree of control over her willingness to copulate or let others know her sexual state,” said Dr. Zuberbühler, also of the University of St. Andrews.
The female primate’s strategy of blurring paternity could be useful in human societies, too, especially when the rate of illegitimacy is high. “Whether or not this happens in humans I don’t know,” he said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if something similar went on.”’

It’s time to study human vocalizations during intercourse. So much is clear.

During copulation I prefer silence. Too much noise and I cannot stop laughing.
I like only breathing while making sweet love. I can be put off by the singlest sound and it ruins the whole thing.

Are you serious? There has to be text involved, for sure. Just as long as it's not said in Dutch, that would be a turn off.

Why?

German is the international language of sex isn't it?
@Dens - sounds to me like you could be more selfish... you're too nice and therefore aware and therefore self-conscious.
Anyone here by any chance read Chuck Palhaniuk's 'Snuff' yet?

Personally, I prefer Spanish. Si tu empiezas, vamos despacio....

Why? Because Dutch makes me think of the office, the supermarket, the classroom.
I once wrote a bit on speech during sex. I came to the conclusion that a different language works perfectly.
I do have a problem with selfconsciousness, and I do think that cocain can be a lifesaver on that matter.

I wrote a lot of I's in this bit.
"the distinctive calls made by female chimpanzees during sex are part of a sophisticated social calculation. "
So female chimps use sex-calls to calculate. How to compare this to human females?
Jan Cremer, where are you, we need you here ! (the man who made all women scream)
