McCain has all but disappeared but Sarah Palin is still around. In today’s Herald Tribune Maureen Dowd writes: ‘Palin told Greta Van Susteren Monday on Fox News that her faith will guide her on a 2012 run. "I'm like, O.K., God, if there is an open door for me somewhere - this is what I always pray - don't let me miss the open door," she said. "Show me where the open door is, even if it's cracked open a little bit, maybe I'll plow right on through that and maybe prematurely plow through it.’
I don’t see any reason to ridicule Sarah Palin’s statement about open doors and God.
Actually I think exactly like her: don’t let me miss the open door.
Keep also in mind that Bush didn’t get extremely low approval ratings thanks to his grammatical errors.
Palin might enter the 2012 race with the slogan: “Don’t let us miss the open door, dear God.”

That final sentence sent chills down my spine. Sounds like a great idea for a horror/science-fiction novel...Open doors are boring. One should close the doors and open a window.

Sarah Palin is definitely missing the open door to leave gracefully. The $150,000 (plus) she spent on clothes and handbags at the McCain campaign's expense won't be forgotten. Apparently most of these items have reportedly been "lost". (According to Federal campaign fundng laws they had to be donated to charity.) She'll become a celebrity like Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and Paris Hilton - popular curiosities.

I would like to point out that Arnon Grunberg is more than explicit about his political analysis (from which his preferences can be derrived) in his weekly columns for Humo/Het Parool.
If I remember correctly he sympathises (or perhaps sympathised) with Wouter Bos, who belongs to PVDA.

As far as I know I'm not an admirer of Wouter Bos. Which is not to say that I believe he is evil.Last week Herman Brusselmans wrote a nice piece about God in Humo. From time to time, between all the bullshit, he delivers a pearl.
