Fifty euros
Golden Tulip
Voila, my bed for tonight. I would say it deserves a 7, maybe even an 8.
This afternoon I took a cab from the station to this hotel.
While having lunch in the restaurant downstairs my taxi driver came to my table. “We have met before,” he said.
“I know,” I answered. “You drove me from the station to this hotel.”
“You remember that you gave me fifty euros?”
“Yes,” I said, “I remember.”
“I lost my wallet. Have you seen it?”
“No,” I said. “I’m sorry, but I haven’t seen it.”
Ten minutes later he was back.
“I’m still not able to find it. If you see my wallet somewhere please leave it at the front desk. I’ll come back tomorrow and pick it up.”
“That’s what I will do,” I promised.

You judge beds before you sleep with them?
Pardon my therapy
I'm applying for a lot of jobs and I do find myself qualified in all of those cases, but their human resources department seems to disagree. It's making me quite upset.
Today I applied for a job as a nuclear something something and they called right back. That can't be too good either. It involves working in France 5 months a year. That part I liked about it. Maybe I have to clean nuclear cillo's? I don't know yet if that 's something I'd like to do.
Weird pillows. They remind me of the Play Boy bunny logo.
This one looks very peaceful.
I wouldn't know where to sleep in those beds, if I were you. My sense of symmetry tells me to sleep in the middle, which inevitably would lead to slipping into the gap. Not very comfortable. Sleeping in only one of the beds would give me a feeling of sleeping next to some stranger, who by chance is absent at the moment but could return during the night. Not very pleasant, either.

why make it so difficult. Just take the side closest to the door/bathroom.

You confuse names.
About a year ago I stayed at the Ghent Marriot. The room looked nice, but upon opening the closet, it happened to be half filled with men's clothes and bags. The bed and bathroom weren't touched, the end of the toiletpaper was still in this triangular shape and the trashcans were empty. Although I was curious what would happen if I stayed, I asked for another room...
Dear Jeanette P,
What did the men's clothes look like?
Eric
Dear Eric
Most of them were (used) business-suits, there was one tuxedo-jacket (no pants) and an awful colored jacket for leisure. Luckily that jacket didn't show up at breakfast the next two mornings.

I took a nap.
I am not familiar with napping, but then again, I don't fly around like you do. There might be some joy in napping, if I do my best, I can try to picture it, but for now I'd feel guilty about napping. I feel guilty about almost everything.
I'm glad we got this clarified.
(Excuse me for always starting sentences with I)

Napping is a great pastime. Highly recommended, especially after lunch.

Why are you so convinced that I spent the night alone?
Arnon
I just imagined what I myself would have done in the same situation. And I probably neither would have brought my partner nor taken anyone to my room for the night. Thus I might even have applied my actions to your person to some extent without really thinking of what would've been likely for you.
Dear Jeanette,
The clothes were definitely not mine.
yours,
Eric
