Late afternoon
Saturday
Saturday March 7, late afternoon: Iraqi children are getting tennis lessons at the Alwyah club in Baghdad. The coach said to me: “You can take pictures of the children but not of me.”

Thanks Arnon!
Do you think tennis is a common sport in Iraq or is it for (relatively) rich kids only?
I like how the fat girl isnt playing tennis.

It's definitely not a very common sport in Iraq. The children appeared to be middle class. The club itself is a club for middle class. But the tennis classes are not connected to the club, although they are given on its premises. The man behind the tennis classes is a priest, in other words a foundation from a church is organizing these lessons, -- the children taking the lessons are both Christian and Muslim I have been told.
