Comfort
One of the best hotels I visited during this trip is hotel Solar de la Plaza in Salta.
A good hotel is never crowded, not designed by a trendy but confused prophet, and is mainly visited by quiet people, preferably more than sixty years old.
The comfort of a marble bathroom and a decent soup should never be underestimated.
I plan to celebrate my sixtieth birthday in Salta.

After a trip in the wildlife, some comfort and a cup of soup taste even better. Spoilt tourists merely always complain.

Exactly!
The African parallel
As one of your groupies, I find myself sweating over a computer in an internet café next to an open gutter in Kumasi (& drinking cola - a good way to kill potential puking, Arnon). I'd recommend Christian guest houses. But you'll have to pretend you and your 'amante' (or guide, or both) are married if you want to share a room.
Kumasi
Where is Kumasi? Do you happen to work for a kind of NGO?
