A scheme is not a vision

This evening my publisher in Zurich, Mr. Keel, called me.
Mr. Keel is my favorite publisher. He still has a vision. At least that’s what I like to believe.
Every time Mr. Keel calls me he tells me: “Arnon, I have a task for you. Write a love story with a happy ending, that takes place in the summer. A story that can be read by an old, catholic man.” Of course this is somehow offensive to old, catholic men and to me.
But I’m ready to forgive Mr. Keel.
One day I’ll write a love story. That takes place in the summer.

In case You would like to make some research for the old, catholic man novel,
I offer You the perfect environment.
But please, don't wait too long.
A note about the Kellendonk readings
Did they not invite Mr. Bas Haring (a Dutch philosopher) for the readings?
It seems he also takes an interest the question of identity.
If only I was rich Maecenas, I invited you two for a symposium, but alas. I liked your lecture in Vrij Nederland.

Haring
I don’t know Bas Haring, the philosopher. I once met Bas Haring, author of children’s books. Are there two Bas Haring’s?

Bas Haring
"Bas Haring denkt & vraagt, schrijft & spreekt. Op een heldere en prikkelende manier probeert hij wetenschap en filosofie betekenis te geven voor het leven. Dat doet hij door het schrijven van boeken, columns en het maken van TV-programma's. Bas Haring is hoogleraar aan Universiteit Leiden waar hij de leerstoel "publiek begrip van wetenschap" bekleedt. "
It is the same man, I saw on TV around New Year, talking about idendity.
PS. Bas Haring was announced as a philosopher then and still is when on TV. I never met him.
Bas Haring again
When I met Mr. Haring in 2002 at festivities for some literary award in Belgium (the Golden Owl) – I believe we both won an award that night – he was announced as an author of children’s books, but one can be more than one thing of course.
Give my best to Mr. Haring if you know him personally. He came across that evening in 2002 as a warmhearted young man.
Yes and I thought he must be a warm-hearted man, and an intelligent one too with enough humour.
Now, I hope your PO Box key problem should be resolved soon. Annoying business.

I thought you left the church...
I'm an lonesome sort of housewife (it doesn't sounds like an old catholic man) but anyway I would like a love story that took place in the summer, with a lot of spaghetti aglio e olio and a very, very good happy ending from you Arnon Grunberg. I look forward too it.
A person can be lots of things.
I just heard that a girl friend of mine, who was a student, now a homeless person is. A big fire made her that.
I realise to few that life can turn around in a blink.
*too little
Dens
Too little what?
too little everything, in a way. I referred to my mistake "too few", but that didn't matter that much, I guess.

A friend of mine once asked me to write a good ending love story as well. I haven't written anything since. They're real killers.
Dens
Dens, it does matter. And besides that it’s an honorable habit to correct your own mistakes.
I hope that other visitors will follow your example.
(Of course they could correct each other's mistakes as well. Or mine for that matter.)
Of gewoon Nederlands schrijven. Verder komt op deze site toch geen zak
please do not think that i laugh at you, but...
i did laugh when i read that one day you will write a love story in lovely summertime. Oh yes, why not .... Tirza would´ve been called a love story in the summertime, but not really for an old catholic .
But surely it´s not your last book, isn´t it?
