Michelin

Old but edible

If I believe in anything it’s in the Red Michelin Guide. Soon after my arrival in Paris I bought the Red Michelin Guide for Paris, but – probably because it was Saturday night – all Bib Gourmand’s were fully booked or closed for private parties. (If you don’t know what a Bib Gourmand is check out this article.)
Finally, my godson, his mother and me ended up in an Italian restaurant called Di Claudio. (10 av. Trudaine).
After his pasta my godson fell asleep, and my vitello turned out to be old but thanks to the lemon still very much edible.

Top restaurants, guides, luxury hotels, amantes, Starbucks, ambassadors, assistants and vitello. In the end, we all want the same thing.

Michelin, Italian food. ..Yes I too wanted to have a laugh, but I behave the same. Like a promising young writer once said: “We always return to the things we all know about”. (This is true for our fears too, alas)

@ Jan, I wasn't laughing either. I'm relieved there are Dutch people out there who lead the glamorous lifestyle we (all the other Dutch people) would secretly want. I laugh at the opposite: people who slum it. (What is slumming: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slumming)
@Tess, Thank you for the word ‘slumming’, I did not know its existence. It makes me think of our once doubtful behaviour as stupid arrogant hippies to expose ourselves in sub-proletarian cafés to grasp authenticity. Great word!
