Loyalties

Graham Greene said about Kim Philby, a spy: "He had all the small loyalties to his colleagues, and of course his big loyalty was unknown to us."

I have all the small loyalties to my friends, publishers and family members, and of course my big loyalty should remain unknown.

Who are you spying on? And why keep your loyalties hidden? Is it a matter of Einsteins "Creativity is keeping your sources (loyalties in this case) well hidden"? I am puzzled.

Yes. As a master spy your loyalties should even be hidden from yourself. Be carefull i 't a dangerous world.
