Pleas

This morning I undertook my yearly visit to the Afghan embassy in The Hague.
Despite all the preparations one picture was missing, together with my assistant I went to a nearby store, had a passport picture taken, returned to the embassy and within one hour I got my visa.
It’s my fifth trip to Afghanistan, but this year I will travel over land, by car from the Netherlands to Afghanistan.
“Don’t push your luck,” a friend said.
But I know women who have lovers among the Gods. They will make dramatic pleas for my safety.
