David E. Sanger in Thursday's Times on secrecy and Mr. Sisi:

Compared to Mr. Sisi Mr. Mubarak was a poster boy for transparency.

Mr. Sisi is the prize we pay for stability, at least that's the doctrine of realpolitik.
