Friday afternoon. I hailed a cab on the Upper West Side.
"I'd like to 35th and Park," I said.
Cabbie: "Oh, no."
"No?"
"I hate going there, it's nothing personal."
"It's the traffic?"
"Yes."
"Do you use Waze?"
"I hate Waze. Waze is the worst. It gives you wrong directions all the time."
"Okay. Do you use Google maps?"
"Yes, sometimes, but I don't listen to it. I'm a taxi driver. I mean, what does Google maps know? Do you want to use Google maps? You can use it. Go ahead. Don't be shy. I won't listen to it anyway."
