One of my worst dining experiences in the last couple of months took place in Chang-i in Amsterdam.
The service was clumsy at best, but it is fair to say that the waiters were just being disrespectful. In their eyes the diners must have been houseflies in human disguise.
Then the food. According to the website of the restaurant, this is "one of the best Asian restaurants in Amsterdam." The food appeared to consist of dorm-friendly microwave meals.
Overall, the experience was so disappointing that it became almost superb and refreshing.
But a bit more humor would help. I suggest that in the future the waiter will say: "We bought the Chef's Menu this afternoon in the supermarket around the corner. Do you want to take it home and use your own microwave?"
