How are the locals: hostile, friendly or avoiding?

Unfortunately the Baluchi Valley is a very rough area and on Google Earth one sees no detail at all.
I imagine the area to be mountainous, dusty, poor, hostile. I know,sounds like cliché's but the again there's no use denying reality.

Having never spent time in coutries like Afghanistan, I sincerely wonder how you feel. If you say 'we returned after a firefight', do you mean that you were actually under or engaged in enemy fire ? And what is the impact of the firefight. Is it merely like a coupe of firecrackers on Museumplein, or do ou have that terrifief gut feelin which sometimes wants to make you throw up?
It all sounds pretty dangerous to me Arnon.

Judging from the amount of dirt on your laptop's trackpad and keyboard, it appears that you are spending a lot of quality time with your computer.

When I read this and I see the photograph of your desk I am so glad I am in my appartment. I would never put myself in those circumstances out of my free will. I wonder what you are looking for when you travel to those places?
