While in Amsterdam I tend to visit my mother in the afternoon.
At 4 o’clock she interrupts the conversation to watch her favorite soap on German television.
Yesterday one of the main characters died because of poisoning.
My mother was emotional about the passing away of this young woman.
On the other hand she is extremely critical about the casting. She plans to write to German television that a few of the actors are completely untalented.

The Hague was in mourning when Eline Vere died. Only the medium has changed since then.My mother also used to follow a daytime soap on German television, which she liked very much, but found a little difficult to follow. After a few months she learned that apart from the afternoon episode that she watched every day, there also was a morning episode that she missed every day.

My grandmother used to watch 'The bold and the beautiful' . And while watching, she always commented on it. When one of the acresses would sigh "Oh no! Ridge! That's not true!", she would add: "But of course it is, you silly cow!"She also kept complaining that there was too much sex in the series. At the beginning of most kissing scenes, she screamed with irritation: "Look! Now they are doing it again!"

P.S. My grandma used to watch some brazilian series , she could talk about it for hours , just like it would be her own family. Al those exciting things which she missed at her age were just in it.

From a certain age all mothers watch television.and speak about tv-characters as if they were neighbours, friends, family. There are women who don't wait till they reach that certain age to do so.

I don't think it's Sturm der Liebe, which shows at 15h on ARD, but rather Wege zum Glück, which shows at 16h10 on ZDF. Indeed last Friday (episode 494) Viktoria (Mareile Bettina Moeller) died from drinkin the snake poison with which she was plotting to kill her arch-rival Anabelle. (by putting it in her whiskey) (but Annabelle found out and switched the glasses at the last moment)
