Cake

Amusement

As has become a ritual I spent this Thanksgiving with Rebecca and George in Brooklyn.
Sant Ambroeus had sold me earlier today a cake in the form of a pumpkin, which caused some amusement at the dinner table.

I thought a pumpkin was for Halloween only and the turkey form was reserved for Thanksgiving. In Belgium there were a lot of chocolate pumpkins.
you'd think they would give such a regular customer a free cake.
Yes, thanksgiving. I 've always liked that day.
This statisticspage shows how conservative America really is: (Conservapedia is the wikipedia for those who think everything else is devilish.)

Pumpkin pie is a traditional thanksgiving dish
That looks really tasty! I hope it was.

Have you had a chance to read Mr Biller's short stories?
Arnon

It looks very artificial. I hope it isn't.
Oscar
Yes, I've had the chance, but I'm one of those who can't read online, so I was planning to print them out tomorrow so I can read them on paper. The stuff that I read was printworthy.
I recently read Murakami's short stories and I loved them, those in the end more than those in the beginning. Great style this man has.
Now I'm reading Nabokov's Mary. I didn't have a lot of opportunity to read (people around me were very loud), but the beginning was very promising. I love reading.

That's not artificial, that's realistic. They know what to do with marzipan, a famous chicken'restaurant' would say. At least, I think it's marzipan. I would like to have a piece.

I remember taking a liking to Mr Nabokov's first novel, but I must confess that the storyline has eluded me. Did you like "The Maserati years"?

Thanks for recommending the Dutch Masters audio tour.
Oscar
Are you and Laura still in New York?
Arnon
We are still in New York. We had dinner at L'Impero in Tudor City tonight.
Tomorrow, we will unfortunately not be able to meet up with Laura's cousin Regina. We would have loved you to meet her. Regina is a very sharp woman in her late eighties who has a busier schedule than most people we know. She rides the subway every day to catch the latest art exhibits and to go to work in a local soup kitchen.
Oscar
I quite liked it, but I think the motive's been done before. That wouldn't be bad, but I believe (not know) that it's been done better. I don't know. It wasn't bad, that's for sure. If I'd written it, I would be pleased.
Oscar W
Do you have reasons to hide Laura and Regina from me.
I'm not offended by your behavior.
Today my godson will recevive your card.
Oscar
you're welcome.
Arnon
We are glad to hear that you are not offended by our behavior. If you were offended by our behavior, we would have taken appropriate measures.
Would it be possible to leave a book for you at the local bakery that you frequent with your Godson? If so, could you remind us of the name of this bakery?
Oscar
Leave the book at Sant Ambroeus, 1000 mad avenue, between 77 and 78.
Tell the manager Mr. Grunberg will come tonight for dinner, and he will pick up the book then.
The girls at the counter are not in the know.
Please ask Laura to write something in the book.
I hate to share this news with you, but for me life without Laura is worthless.
I think you, Mr. Arnon, just don't believe that Laura exists.
Mr. Dens
I will be convinced that Laura exists as soon as I have seen her naked, or half naked.
Yes, on those momoents I tend to believe existence as well.

I think it's ceramics. They know what to do....
