We had a chat with sociologist and sexologist Pepper Schwartz in her garden.
She said: "You can do polyamory well, but you will need special skills, like you need special skills to win an Olympic medal in ice skating. It can be done, but not many people have these skills."
Love is a craft, life is a craft, you need skills for it, and for certain types of love and life you need special skills. Needles to say, not everybody wants an Olympic medal in ice skating.
Pepper added: "Some men are risk takers, they jump off mountains in squirrel suits."
