Fantasy

45 minutes

Upon arrival in Israel I was once again detained, for 45 minutes this time, which of course was connected to Lebanese stamps in my passport.
Today it took the authorities a little bit longer than last time in May to establish that I was not exactly an undesired alien.
Maybe because I had told the border police honestly that I was here to write about the Israel Defense Forces, the policeman asked: “We would like to know what exactly you are going to do here.” He asked my e-mail address, my sister’s phone number, my address, my mobile phone number and my home phone number.
Then I got my passport back and I could entertain the fantasy that the Shin Beth is listening to my phone calls.
