Crime fiction

Half a bottle of red wine

In the summer of 2007 I gave a reading in the German city of Brunswick. In the audience I spotted a young, black man, who turned out to be a famous author in Brunswick.
Tonight he showed up for the reading as well – Hanover is not that far from Brunswick – he gave me a book with his poetry and half a bottle of red wine.
This reading gets a 7.5.
The interviewer, who works for the German radio, had some inspiring ideas about writing crime fiction.

What do these readings do for you? Would you say you have a good time doing them?
Joep
Do you think life is about having a good time?
Mr. Arnon, what is your opinion on the book/film "The Secret"? Do you apply it, being so succesful
Arnon
Ok. enough said. I can only image the tons of energy it costs to be the one that has to entertain these audiences.
Dens
What do you think? It's like asking the pope if he likes and applies condoms.
Joep, the analogy isn't really accurate, if you'd ask me.
Doesnt everyone know, except the mentally challenged, 'The Secret' is total and utter bullshit? I think Arnon has a good bullshit-detector. So in my book it would be like asking the pope ...etc...
lecture
Arnon, please stop calling it readings, readings are for psychics. You give lectures. I hope.
Oké, I agree on the bullshit concerning the universe and the physics behind it all, but you can't ignore the effect of positive thinking, can you? I, for one, am vastly assured about the power of positive thinking, allthough I do tend to see the power of negative thinking (as the book by Steve Fuller proposes) as well.
My Longman Dictionary (quite a reference I might say) tells me this:

5to a group [countable]
a) ALan occasion when a piece of literature is read to a group of people:
a poetry reading at the bookstore
b) ALRRCa piece of writing, especially from the Bible, that is read to a group of people:
The first reading is from Corinthians I, Chapter 3.

I find positive thinking quite scary.

Oxford American Dictionaires says about reading: • an occasion at which poetry or other pieces of literature are read aloud to an audience.

But besides the dictionary I would say that the thing I do here in Germany – read aloud from my book and answer some questions --- is called in New York to the best of my knowledge a reading a not a lecture.
A lecture has a more academic connotation – if I would speak for ninety minutes about Heiner Müller’s work I would call this a lecture.
I plan to call my readings till further notice readings, but if you have more convincing arguments please let me know. And in general I appreciate it highly when somebody highlights my mistakes, especially when it is done without unnecessary aggression.

I don't know "the Secret." Why?
Dens
Do you mean this 'The Secret'?

YEs, Sander, that's the Secret.

The reason why I asked is because they juggle with a lot of dead famous people. It is easy to juggle with dead people, I believe. So I'm searching for someone alive to back this theory up. I find it impossible.
