Alto Adige

Happy

Last night I took my “amante”, who is here on a short visit, to Bottega del Vino on 59th street.
I ordered a bottle of Blauburgunder from the Alto Adige. Not that I’m a connaisseur, but I have a weak spot for wines from the Alto Adige.
The wine arrived, I tasted as I always do hastily and I said, as I always do: “Yes, it’s good.” My amante tasted shortly after and said: “There is something strange with this wine, it seems as if there are bubbles in the wine.” I don’t like doing this but I asked for the sommelier and I said: “The lady is not too happy with the wine. Could you please taste the wine?” There is a coward lurking in me, especially when it comes to sommeliers.
“Ah,” the sommelier proclaimed, “if the lady is not happy, we are going to make her happy.”

Is there a hero lurking in every sommelier?
Did you perhaps mean Alto Adige?
Jeanette
Yes, I did and I corrected it. I don't know where the "l" came from.
Thanks!
What did he do to make her happy!

I cannot tell you, I have to be discreet.
personally i don't like it very much when other men make my lady happy. some say i'll grow up some day and get over it, but that just doesn't feel right.
I know nothing of wine, when I get to taste I always wait exceptionally long before giving my okay. "Mmmm.... wait, wait, can I have another sip?"
I have been banned from two restaurants already for this silly joke.

Get used to the idea that other men will make you happy. Get also used to the idea that other men will make your lady happy. Getting used to this very idea is a sign of civilization.
I thought civilisation was making eachother unhappy? I'm glad it's the other way around. Makes my day!
