Carp
Phantom Pain
I traveled to Podgorica with two men. For the second half of my story on Kosovo for NRC Handelsblad.
Near Lake Skadarsko we ate carp. The last time I ate carp was after the party for my novel Phantom Pain in the Netherlands back in 2000. Some people still speak about this dinner at a Polish restaurant in Amsterdam. Not all of them are equally enthusiastic about the food that was served that night nor about the quality of the service.
But the carp today was excellent.

Wodka
The service in the Polish restaurant was rather excellent. If you want the guests to keep talking about it.
The waiter was kind enough to share his wodka with the visitors. One glass served meant one glass for him. Any other request for service was answered in character, bullish. This man had a mission and we all had to know about it.
I'm not sure if he finished the wine cellar full of wodka that evening.
Arnon,
I hope you read this. At this moment i'm watching the movie called 'Catch me if you can'. It's about a man who pretents to be someone he is not. He made me thinking about Fantoompijn. It's no carp, but the movie is damm tasty. See for yourself.
So were your two latest columns in Humo about Balkenende and Saddam Hussain, excellent. Good article about conspiracy theories in De Morgen too. Good food for the brain. Have a nice meal.
history
Maybe on of the people present that evening should write the history of this infamous dinner. I'm not going to do it. Sander is up to this task, I know it.
