Sin
Today
Today is the Day of Atonement.
I hope all readers of this site will forgive me all my sins.

Befor I can forgive, you will first have to confess.
Is there something I should know?
do you think one day will be sufficient for us to do so?
Arnon
You can "hope" for forgiveness if that is all you want to do today (which is fine by me). You can show regret and remorse if you're really seeking forgiveness.
Is it that easy these days? I remember having to do at least 5 rosaries before foregiveness was even considered. And that was before I seriously started sinning.
I the anonymous reader, shall forgive you your sins. You the famous writer, will you forgive me mine?
For far I enjoyed your sins (God forgive me).
Noa
Do not forgive Arnon just like that. Let him beg for our forgiveness. He will find solace in the begging.
"Forgive me father for I have sinned", this actually means that you have morality and a certain ethic code, this is the perfect answer to those criticasters saying that the books of Arnon Grunberg are missing values & standards.
Or I'm I now confusing the writer with the man behind or is there only one?
@Mieke, I can't help it but I'm a Catholic which means I'll gladly forgive Arnon, as long as he does something in return (such as forgive me or buy me a red dress or a few beers). Come to think of it - me being Catholic might even explain why he dislikes me.
Noa
I am a catholic too. I take a perverse pleasure in other people admitting to their guilt and seeking forgiveness.
Besides I don't think Arnon dislikes you, you are just easy to trigger into reactions. That's one of your charms.
wybaczam. as the note is stated partly in Polish I take the liberty to answer in Polish
The sentence “I hope all readers of this site will forgive me all my sins,” makes me think about what a woman once said to me: “There is no God to judge you, but you will be judged by the people. Those billion eyes looking upon you will judge you, for they are the one and only God above you.“ She called herself a Communist.
I suppose this is a recurring day. So are you asking to forgive your sins of the past year, or those of your entire life?
I was in a train today, heading to a jobinterview, and I wondered what I would ask Mr. Arnon if I were to interview him. I came up with "did you ever experience the same thrill as in a brothel in the other world?" Of course I would phrase it more adequately.

Earlier this week, I asked Laura to read your story "The Fantasies of Others" to me at bedtime. I did not know what the story was about. (It was published recently at nplusonemag.com.)
After having read two pages of the story to me, Laura paused and frowned. She looked at me and said: "Are you trying to tell me something?"

Should I take Laura's comment as a compliment?
Actually that was pretty much my reaction to the story too.
my reaction was "this story looks familiar"
Arnon
Yes, to the extent that Laura's comment, prompted by the story, made me smile. In response to my smile, Laura frowned even more.
I might start loving Laura as well.
Oscar
I find it somehow curious that Laura thinks that you are trying to tell her something through my story.
Did something like this happen before?
Has Laura ever read one of my novels?
Arnon
This was the first time that Laura thought that I was trying to tell her something through your work.
Laura hasn't read any of your novels, even though I gave her used copies of "Phantom pain" and "The history of my baldness". In her defense, I should add that this year, Laura hasn't finished reading a novel yet.
Laura did read a review of "The Jewish messiah" this week.
Oscar
Why did Laura read a review of "The Jewish Messiah?"
Arnon
I suspect that Laura was trying to make a good impression.
Or perhaps this is her way to ask forgiveness for her sins.
Oscar
Did Laura make an effort the find this review or did she stumble upon it?
Arnon
Laura says that when your blog wasn't working for a moment, she entered your name in Google's search engine. The review (at bookslut.com) appeared as the 5th link in the list with search results.
