Om als schrijver toch wat meer afstand te houden dan je nu doet. Het is zo ergerlijk. En het resultaat is, dat je dan als lezer niks meer koopt/leest. En wanneer je gedwongen wordt om iets van je te lezen, in een tijdschrift bijvoorbeeld, vind je dat dan ook niks meer. Misschien gaat de kwaliteit op zich achteruit, of evolueer je als lezer - kan ook. Ik wijt het toch aan gebrek aan afstand. Zo spijtig. Lang leve Murakami! Free advice.

@Filo Filo, that's an interesting comment you put up here. I've been wondering about that as a mechanism because in general terms - it seems readers like their writers to be enigmas. But times are changing and it seems you're forgetting the world (and Arnon's potential scope of readers) is much larger than Holland aka - you.
Here's an anecdote for you -- I am Linkedin to Obama. When he accepted my invitations, it did not make me think "shit, he's too accessible". The opposite - it had me putting up 10 dollars for his campaign.

Ik denk dat je je ernstig vergist, meneer Grunberg doet gewoon mee aan wat bijna iedere moderne schrijver tegenwoordig doet; het bijhouden van een blog.
Dat hij een stapje verder gaat en ons op de hoogte houdt waar hij is (en in zekere zin zou je dat per uur te weten kunnen komen omdat hij continu de plekken beschrijft waar hij eet, drinkt en feestjes viert) lijkt me gewoon helemaal bij hem horen, hij is zelf een fictief persoon geworden, een creatie van zichzelf, en daar hoort zo'n blog bij.
Wel vraag ik me wel eens af of hij niet gewoon in het Engels gaat schrijven over enige tijd, ik heb het idee dat hij met een Engels woordenboekje zijn blogs typt, maar het zou me niets verbazen....
