My French teacher told me that the shelves in his favorite supermarket have been empty for at least two days. Apparently, some people are hoarding.
And also this is just anecdotal evidence, but it seems to me that restaurants and cafes in Manhattan have been emptier than usual. Hoarding and staying home is the strategy for some citizens.
Thank god Sushi Seki had a few customers early this morning. You don't want to be the only one in a late night restaurant.
A woman ordered several hand rolls around 1 a.m. and declared: "This is my favorite breakfast."
I'm not sure why but that declaration gave me hope.
