Capture

Evade

On methods – Yaniv Kubovich in Haaretz:

‘Israeli Mossad operatives located an Iranian assassin sent to Cyprus to kill an Israeli businessman and interrogated him on video regarding his handlers in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and their methods.
The assassin, Yousef Shahabazi Abbasalilu, managed to evade Cypriot security services but was captured in Iran by Israeli intelligence. However, the Mossad did not say when the capture took place, where the suspect is now nor when the Cyprus attack would have happened.’

(…)

‘Instructed by his Iranian handler – a senior member of the Revolutionary Guards’ Branch 800, tasked with carrying out terror attacks outside Iran - Abbasalilu arrived several times at the home of the Israeli businessman and collected intelligence on security measures there.’

(…)

‘The Prime Minister's Office said on Sunday that Israel "welcomes the foiling of the terrorist attack" and that the country works "in a wide variety of methods, everywhere, in order to protect Jews and Israelis" and that it will continue to work "to stamp out Iranian terrorism wherever it raises its head."’

Captured in Iran by Israeli intelligence? Interesting.

And the Mossad cannot say where the suspect right now is. Let's guess. Not in Iran.

Iran might be one of the winners of the war in Ukraine, it might have stopped the revolution against the regime, it might be near an atomic bomb, but apparently the country is swamped with intelligence officers working for its archenemy.
