More about restaurants in Amsterdam and its surroundings: last night my company convinced me to try something new. We ended up in a place called “Envy”.
The food consisted of amuse-gueules, which is a beautiful concept if only all the amuse-gueules were tasteful.
The desserts were satisfying, the bresaola was terrific, and the service was amusing: we got food meant for another table and we ate it, we ordered a testing menu so we had no clue what food was meant for us and what food was meant for our neighbors.
The disadvantage of this restaurant is that you might be forced to eat at a bar. I prefer tables when I’m not dining alone. The sushi-bar is an exception to this rule. Sometimes it is better to look at fresh fish than at your companion.
