Arnon Grunberg was guest writer at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, in 2008. He held two public readings: the Bert van Selm Reading on the 2nd of September and the Verwey Reading on the 16th of October. On the 1st of September he joined the freshmen to discuss about his novel Tirza.
Theme of Grunberg's lectureship was 'fiction and truth'. At the faculty of philosophy he gave lectures about Plato with Eric Schliesser.
To celebrate the guest writer a group of students once again played The Asylum Seeker on the 12th of September 2008.
