Mum

On being partly mum - Jack Khoury in Haaretz:

‘Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's declaration last week at the UN – that Israel is surrounded by enemies wishing to destroy it – enraged Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, prompting him to ask Israel again how and whether it intends to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Flanked by the Saudi and Egyptian foreign ministers, as well as Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, Safadi held a press conference on Friday that echoed the principles set in the past as part of a Saudi-led peace initiative: Arab countries would guarantee Israel's security as long as it ends the occupation.’

‘Having seen the destruction in Beirut, many in the Arab world wonder how Arab countries should respond to Israel's operation in Lebanon, and whether the policy is to remain at least partly mum, as was the case with Israel's war with Hamas.
Jordan's Foreign Ministry said in recent days that Safadi had spoken by phone with Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati, emphasizing Jordan's full support of Lebanon. He condemned the "Israeli aggression" and said that the Hashemite Kingdom will support any cease-fire efforts and the implementation of the Security Council's Resolution 1701.’

(…)

‘Some in Lebanon believe that the best way to defend their country is to pressure Iran not to forsake its proxy. These same voices feel vindicated by Tuesday's Iranian attack on Israel, which they attribute to their pressure.
Given the Arab world's conflicting interests, its dependence on the U.S., and the divisive issue of Iran, many Lebanese worry no Arab country will come to their aid – leaving them to a fate similar to that of the Palestinians in Gaza.’

(…)

‘The man, who resides in the Hezbollah stronghold attacked by Israel, added: "What's clear is that the Lebanese, like the Palestinians in Gaza, are paying a heavy price – and no one knows when and how it will end. Again, the Lebanese have been forsaken."’

Forsaken. MBS doesn’t care about Gaza nor does Sisi, and MBS doesn’t care about Lebanon.

Yes, they are forsaken.

But if the refugee problem will become overwhelming, the EU i.e. the US will act. See under: Yugoslavia.
