The first time I went to the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables was in the spring of 1999.
I have been back a couple of times since then – in the fall of 2001 with an editor, and in the summer of 2005 with my godson and his mother.
Last Friday I returned to the Biltmore.
The swimming pool at the Biltmore is still impressive.
The Waldhaus in Sils-Maria and Hotel Victoria in Glion are hors concours, but the Biltmore deserves an honorable mention.
Anyhow, my days of elopement are over.
