One of the first things I did after coming home was going to a nail salon.
A Korean lady was working on my nails.
After a while she said: “Your hands look like Obama’s hands.”
I should have asked her: “Did you work on Mr. Obama’s hands as well?” Or: “Did you study Obama’s hands?”
But all I said was: “Really?”
I’m quite convinced that my hands don’t look like Obama’s hands.
“Yes,” the lady said. “Look at this line.”
I looked at the line.
“Interesting,” I said. “What a funny coincidence.”
Perhaps I missed an opportunity to get to know more about my own hands, or Obama’s hands.
