Consenting adults

Attention

My favorite anecdote relating to the leaked state department cables: ‘Slovenia, seeking a meeting with President Obama, was encouraged to “do more” on detainee resettlement if it wanted to “attract higher-level attention from Washington”; its prime minister later “linked acceptance of detainees to ‘a 20-minute meeting’ ” with the president, but the session — and the prisoner transfer — never happened.’

You want to see POTUS for twenty minutes? Accept some prisoners from Gitmo.

You can call it diplomacy or you can call it trade.

I was reminded of the disclaimer on some sites:

“The xxx Incorporated agrees to introduce two or more consenting adults for the sole purpose of companionship. In no way, shape or form does The xxx consent to or have knowledge of any illegal activity.”
