Paradise

Chaco

In the winter of 2007 I travelled from Buenos Aires to Brazil, Paraguay and then back to Buenos Aires by jeep.
I don’t have a driver’s license. My girlfriend was driving; I was reading the map. This trip was among other things research for one of my novels.
After a long and hazardous trip from Filadelfia in Paraguay to Argentina we arrived in the city of Salta. We had stayed almost a week in the Gran Chaco, also named the Green Hell.
Compared to the Chaco Salta was pure paradise.
That’s why I decided to celebrate my 40th birthday in the city of Salta.
It remains to be seen whether Salta is paradise when you arrive from Buenos Aires
